Here's what other teachers are saying the FASTRAC curriculum of the NineZero Project

“In August 2000… we initiated the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Teaching and Research Awareness Campaign at Canyon Springs High School."

"Now an established component of our Community Service program, we qualify an average of twenty-five HCA FASTRAC Trainers each year. In 2002 we invited students from the Allied Health Academy at Valley View High School to train with us and bring FASTRAC to their site. Students from both schools now train together annually, and students from Vista del Lago High School participated in 2005.

These students enjoy educating their peers in all of the ninth-grade health classes, as well as educating adults at conferences. I am, in fact, amazed at the zeal with which students participate in FASTRAC. The message is so compelling that even students who were extremely shy have taken the training and made presentations throughout their years in the academy, significantly improving their self-confidence and poise. The feedback that I receive from teachers is uniformly positive: students in the class actively listen to the presenters and are eager to ask and answer questions, a sure sign of learning.

I am proud to think that my students and I helped start a movement that is raising awareness of the dangers of prenatal exposure to alcohol. Yes, a movement. FASTRAC and the brilliant NineZero campaign that you initiated this year are not merely curriculum components that introduce important concepts that can be conveniently forgotten after an exam. They are life components teaching lessons that are destined to become part of the fabric of our society: ‘Nine Months, Zero Alcohol... Period.’

I enthusiastically support FASTRAC and the NineZero campaign!”

“The training went well and my students are excited!! They were also very surprised at many of the facts behind FASD and how uninformed most citizens really are.”

We had 35 students show up and they loved their T-shirts. We wore them on Monday and students are already asking what NineZero is.”
